For hiking we recommend Krížna in the Veľká Fatra (starting from Kordíky or Králiky, approx. 30 min by car), Panský diel, and Šachtičky or Urpín right above the town. Cyclists most often ride the Krížna loop (approx. 64 km), the loop via Kordíky and Králiky (approx. 41 km), to Poniky and Čerín, to Špania Dolina, or to Donovaly and Kozí chrbát; the Hronská cyklomagistrála is a flatter option. You can ski at Čachovo in Selce and in Tajov (approx. 7 km), at Šachtičky (approx. 20 min), Donovaly (approx. 30 min) and Skalka pri Kremnici (approx. 40 min).
The Štiavničky lido and indoor pool, Bounce Park 17 trampoline park, the indoor go-kart track, Hvezdáreň na Vartovke observatory, the museums on the main square and Múzeum SNP.
